Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts Regional Park

We promote sustainable access to protected areas

Our mission is to ensure the sustainability of this natural heritage area by protecting 800 acres of land and the nature reserve that surrounds Petit-Lac-des-Sables. Environmentally responsible camping and a dynamic outdoor centre offer an authentic and educational experience. This creates a strong connection between visitors and nature that benefits both current and future generations.

Nature at its most authentic

Flora and fauna native to the Saint-Agathe-des-Monts region

The Saint-Agathe-des-Monts region is nestled in the Laurentian Mountains and is home to impressive biodiversity that reflects the ecological wealth of this boreal land. A mixed forest made up of hardwood trees such as yellow birch, red maple and aspen stand proud beside iconic conifers including balsam fir and black spruce. This leafy mosaic provides a prime habitat for a varied fauna of white-tailed deer, red foxes, beavers, ruffed grouse and a large number of migratory birds and small mammals. The wetlands, rivers and lakes create an even more balanced ecosystem by welcoming amphibians, fish and essential pollinating insects. When you protect this diversity, you protect the living identity of the region.
